Robestiary

The first (and only) Voltron robestiary on the Internet timed with a stopwatch!

Much has been said about Voltron and the clan of Doom, but relatively little concerns the robeasts. Maybe it's because they all were a pile of mush by the ends of the respective episodes they appeared in, and maybe it's because many had absolutely no appeal. Some of the robeast designs were downright wacky (a runaway bulldozer?), while others were good in theory, but not in practice (a jellyfish robeast; all Voltron really needed was a pair of pantyhose to defeat it, but I digress.) Here are all of the robeasts in the Lion Voltron series, with their weapons, a pic, and how long each one's battle against Voltron lasted*. Have a look and see which robeasts gave Voltron the most trouble, and which were Hagar's biggest wastes of her talent.

Here are some statistics on the robeasts. Timing was done with a stopwatch.
Total Battle Time in seconds: 7578.84 (126 minutes, 18.6 seconds).
10.14% of robeasts made in the series never actually fought Voltron.

Updated statistics were done, removing robeasts that did not fight Voltron from the analysis. There is no significant difference between Season 1 and Two robeasts in terms of effectiveness. However, there was a clear mix of Organic and Mechanical Robeasts, not to mention a member of the Doom Court occasionally. Which method of robeast lasted the longest?

As statistics show, the Mechanical Robeasts did the best. Having Members of the Doom Court didn't outdo the Mecha Robeasts, so there's no point in wasting an heir or commander unless you really, really don't want to give them a severence package!

Notes:
*The T(s) vs. Voltron begins when the robeast battles a formed Voltron, and ends when the body is completely destroyed during the explosion, NOT the end of the explosion. Exclusively Arena Robeasts are not included. The larger deployed robeasts denoted with 0 for T(s) never fought Voltron, but battled the Lions.

^Carp's Robeast is unique in that it has 2 battles against a formed Voltron, and that in the second battle, Voltron splits up into the Lions to eliminate some mine obstacles before recombining and attacking Carp again. Since the battle was ongoing, the timer is still counting in this case. The two battles' time total is used below, but the two battles' times are as follows: 1st battle (155.94s) /2nd battle (248.84).

"This robeast was able to attack a disabled Voltron, but was destroyed by Bandor's fleet.

@This battle occurred over 2 episodes, so the time is all-inclusive. This robeast was destroyed by the Pulsar Cannon.

***This robeast, piloted by Lotor in the Fleet of Doom movie, was defeated with the help of Vehicle Voltron.
